SEAT LICENSE: WHAT IS IT AND WHEN DO YOU NEED IT?

Under the terms of our royalty-free image licensing, if you exceed the 10 user limit you need to obtain a seat license or you will be infringing our photographers' lawful copyright which is subject to severe penalties. Many of our larger customers routinely purchase seat licenses from us for the discs or single images they select from our royalty-free division..

"Seat" Defined
The term "seat" is being used here to refer to your place of business and the number of your colleagues who can access the images on your work-flow server for the purpose of incorporating them into their design projects.

If you place the images on a server...
...and the images on the server can be accessed by more than 10 people, you need a site license. (Note: simply inserting an image on a web page doesn't require a site license, regardless of how many people can view the page).

If you have a central library...
...where you gather, for example, all the royalty-free discs you purchase, and if that library is accessible by more than 10 users of the images, you need a site license.

How to get a site license
Easy. Simply phone any Comstock office and speak with a Customer Service Representative.

How much does a site license cost?
That varies greatly based on the size of your organization (the more people who will be accessing and using the images, the greater the site license) and the number of images you purchase (good customers get good prices - no surprise there...).
